Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his initial title for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.
The athlete, a former number one, has experienced a difficult year, managing just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the American major.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with former coach his previous coach.
Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the past month - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial trophy following the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt from March of that year.
Victory also signifies Medvedev has secured 21 championships at 21 different events.
"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children at once, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," said ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his past six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's retrieving play style and regular reactions on the tennis court had led commentators to question if his skill to compete at the top level was concluded.
Yet the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and play positively, supported by an enhanced serve.
Medvedev fought back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the last five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors traded breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his first professional title, seized the initiative to create a final set.
He saved 4 initial chances in a close third set before the Russian broke to fifteen to serve for the match.
Suitably, the winner secured the title with a shot at the net area, with his opponent unable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
